The cause
With great pleasure and privilege, we inform you that, during this year, we witness the 70th birthday of Padmabhushan Dr.K.J. Yesudas. As we all know, Dasettan has always stepped back from celebrating his birthdays all these years.
But during an occasion of inauguration of Heart Project of Lions District 324E4, he witnessed the need for the poor, who hopelessly run for heart surgeries and their life as such. This ignited a self thought to save a minimum of 70 children, who otherwise will have to live with their heart problems, for the future. Cure a Heart problem means a Family is saved for the future.
This project will be jointly conducted by Divyakarunya Trust Trivandrum, in which Dasettan himself is a Managing Trustee and Lions Club International, Dist 324E4.
Lions-Divyakarunya Heart Project, rightly named as ‘Hridayathalam’ will offer free open heart surgeries for 70 or more deserving people including children suffering from serious heart ailments. Dasettan’s hometown Cochin will witness this historic event, which will be blessed with eminent personalities from all walks of the society. The gathering includes Indian film celebrities, political personalities, cultural fraternities, well wishers and friends of the living legend. This will be rare occasion to offer a befitting tribute to our blessed, but simple Dasettan.
Programme
“Hridayathalam” will commence from 6pm onwards at the specially set venue of Le Meridien, Cochin on 6th March 2010. The Music night with concert will be lead by ‘Ganagandharvan’ himself with son Vijay Yesudas, Smt.Sujatha and her daughter Sweta. The participation of Superstars from Indian film and music industry will make the Event an unforgettable experience . The programme will be directed by eminent movie director Kamal and Ashiq Abu.
A 70th birthday celebration to save 70 lives is first time in the history and has already created wide response in the Indian film Industry. All the personalities have ensured their whole hearted participation and co-operation in paying their tribute to the maestro.
